Technology & Design

Using the same profiles as the industry leading Origin folding sliding doors allows you to have matching doors throughout your home. As a standalone product, Origin doors come with a modern appearance, insulated aluminium profiles and a marine-grade powder coated finish. B Best of all is the large glass panels making rooms look brighter and bigger.

The 75mm outer frame and cill options make these doors perfect for replacing your old patio doors with minimal disruption to you internal reveals and decoration. The doors have a modern flat appearance outside with a chamfered internal glazing bead.

The door seals on an Origin door come in a Q-Lon material designed for effecting weather protection. It is easy to clean and comes in seven different colours, letting you colour match to your desired frame colour for a neater look compared to doors with black rubber gaskets.

Personalisation

Origin French or double doors come with extensive options for customising exactly as you want it. Popular colour include white, grey and black finishes, or any of 150 different RAL colours. Also available are four wood-effect finishes using a sophisticated sublimation process. This creates an authentic wood effect door with none of the maintenance associated with wood.

Colour-matched door seals offer you a better looking door compared to other products replacing the conventional black gaskets. Easy to clean, durable and enhancing the appearance of the door.

Choose from Yale handles in black, white, chrome or gold or add the luxury Hafi handle in five different styles, coming in satin stainless steel with separate cylinder escutcheon.

For side doors or porches an optional midrail divides your glass giving you a glazed top and solid panel on the bottom with optional pet flap. The midrail comes horizontally fitted with a 60:40 split, or 50:50 split.

Glass choices offer options for enhanced security with laminated glass, privacy and shade with integral glass blinds. Triple glazing offers enhanced thermal performance and acoustics.

Security & Performance

The 8-point multi-point lock is developed by Origin offering outstanding security and reliability. Deep throw bolts combine with shootbolts. The locking system meets current security standards and Document Q for new build homes.

The door cylinders offer two types for security both with 3-Star British Kite Mark TS007:2014 and optional magnetic keys.

A double glazed origin door meets current Building Regulations for thermal performance with typical U-Values of 1.6 W/ (m2K).

Doors also meet PAS 24, BS6375 Parts 1, 2 and 3 as well as meeting ISO9001.

Hardware

Origin French doors use the same high-quality hardware found in the OB-72 and OB-49 bifolding door ranges. With aluminium profiles being around a third slimmer than uPVC doors, combined with the hardware gives you more flexible door sizes. The smallest double doors are as narrow as 940mm for cottage doors right up to 2.400 wide and up to 2.7metres high.

Another great feature of Origin doors is their ability to open 180 degrees, fully opening up to provide a more useable door opening and let more of the light into your home.

You get the same high quality door locks, having an 8-point locking system, chamfered 20mm bolts and high security cylinder with anti-drill, anti-pick and anti-snap protection. These locks with a broad selection of robust door handles. Strong, sleek and reliable, they operate the locking system with precision while improving the aesthetics of your new French doors. The slave leaf comes with optional flush bolts or a matching handle to the lead door. You can even colour match the handles to the doors with some models, giving you a truly personal set of doors in your home.

Glass

Your new French doors come as standard with toughened 28mm glass units. Our glass has the latest low-E (low emissivity) glass. This advanced coating works brilliantly in reflecting the heat back into your home. On the outside, low-E makes the most of sunshine bringing into your home at optimum levels for comfort. With this coating, you also get argon gas between the glass and warmer material spacer bars to the edge of your glass unit.

So while you can't see many of these technological advancements, they work in the background keeping your home more comfortable all year round.

You also have all manner of options for getting more out of your doors with a choice of glass options. Upgrade your door security with laminated glass units having the same energy efficient benefits. There are also options for self-cleaning, solar control or acoustic glass.

Colour

Your new Origin double doors come with the latest advancements in colouring technology. Whether you choose a standard or special colour, you get the same luxurious surface finish, applied to the latest standards and in carefully controlled environments. Your doors meet all the necessary quality labels such as BS6496 and Qualicoat.

Choose our luxurious woodgrain colour and benefit from even more durability. A powder-coated base coat is then finished with an advanced film containing the woodstructure effect. Not only do you get beautiful woodgrain doors but also even more durability to the aluminium surface.

Energy Efficiency

The energy-saving properties of the glass in your Origin French Doors come with a centre pane U value of 1.1W/2mK. This meets current Building Regulations.

Combined with the thermally insulated aluminium frames your French doors insulate better than older products and help keep heat in the home. They also help with overall energy efficiency as part of a well-insulated home.
