Origin OB-49 bifolding doors offer some of the thinnest sightlines of any leading brand, enhancing the glass sizes and giving a greater feeling of space.  These doors come designed to remove the barrier between the inside and outside of your home and come with the option of a low or flush threshold.

Each door sash comes at just 49mm wide, combined to give an overall sightline of 110mm with the doors in the closed position.  You get the same sophisticated insulation, creating a thermal break and improving the overall U-Values and performance of the product. All profiles come with a durable, marine-grade powder-coated surface finish.

Clever engineering combined with high-grade components make Origin doors light and smooth to open while being one of the most attractive doors on the market.  An overall square appearance inside and out sets these doors apart visually from other brands. Re-engineered from the successful OB-72 product but with reduced aluminium profiles, more glass and better views of your patio and garden. Origin OB-49 Bifolding Doors come with the most comprehensive options for customising your door to your exact requirements.

Choose doors opening out or in, sliding to the left or the right. Configure your doors with a traffic door letting you use it daily without having to fold all the panels back. Our doors also couple to gable windows above or fixed windows to the side, letting you create distinctive door screens in your home.

150 different RAL colours come in all manner of grey, black, metallic and bold vibrant colour. You can also have colour matched door seals, where other doors only come in black. Choose from black, white, light grey, graphite grey, light oak, bronze, chestnut brown.

Choose from the comprehensive range of hardware and handle colours only available with Origin products.  Luxury Handles in stainless steel, colour matched to your doors or in a contrasting colour.  You can also choose different colour door hinges, intermediate handles and even down to the door running gear.

This door is the ideal model for steel-look industrial style bifolding doors.

Security & Performance

Developed for the Origin door, the unique 8-point locking system conforms to the latest security standards, securing the sealing the doors. The lock system conforms to the latest security standards for doors.

Combined with a luxury handle, the door works by engaging long bolts into the frame and compressing the door against its seals. Added to this is a 25mm bolt operated with a key. As standard, the doors come with a 3-Star Diamond, British Standard Kitemark locking barrel. Doors come glazed internally preventing removal of glass from the outside. Even the door hinges come designed to resist attack.

Door U-Values depend on glass specification but exceed the requirements of current Building Regulations and ultra-low U-values of 1.2Wm2K with a triple glazed unit.

Hardware

Using a series of sophisticated rollers and guides, the bifold hardware uses components designed by Origin and not after-market generic door parts. The same extends to the slave and D-handle – both of which have multiple cycle tests, a testament to their longevity and reliability. They even come in a choice of stainless steel or colour matched finishes.

Other components such as the door hinges, locking gearbox, bifold door track and other parts come with the latest innovations in door hardware, expertly-made and designed to provide you with superior smooth performance, reliable security and the best weather performance. Origin doors even come hurricane tested thanks to the engineering and premium-grade hardware.

Quality door magnets keep your open doors in place while looking sleep and blending in with the door frames. Also at the top of the door is one of the best top trolley systems designed to keep the frames in place, secure and with never any risk of jarring or juddering as they slide along their tracks.

Unique colour matched gaskets, not available with other bifolding doors complete the look of your new doors. At the same time, they provide valuable finger protection should young hands get trapped between the doors. Finally, all the door hardware performs faultlessly while looking beautiful. Glass

As standard, your doors come with toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill.  This glass is of the finest quality for clarity and energy efficiency.

You can upgrade your glass to other solutions depending on the location of your new bifolding doors. For instance, south-facing elevations may benefit from solar control glass.
